ReplyDeletePaula is talking about all of the brilliant ways she implemented Schwartz/Hess/Sparrow Teaching by Design.
ReplyDeleteFirst, pen and paper! Laptops for in-class drafting. E-mail for communicating and submitting assignments. TWEN site for disbursing information and office hours sign-ups. Blog and Facebook. Document projector (for modeling).
ReplyDeleteTWEN for quizzes. Links to video in power points; power points posted to TWEN page. Survey Monkey. Review websites in class (i.e., find the site for the Board of Bar Examiners for the state in which you will be taking the bar). Bar support web page (also linked to TWEN). Videotape bar presentations and also linked to in TWEN. Web research “treasure hunt.” Links to RSS feeds and YouTube videos. Straight-up video in class. Remote office hours.

Paula suggested LiveChat for online office hours the night before exams.
ReplyDeleteLouis Schwartz uses a lot of the features in TWEN.
ReplyDeleteWe currently do not use technology inside/outside class except powerpoint and email, but anticipate that some of the other comments will assist us in doing more with technology in the future. L&M
ReplyDeleteHillary Burgess uses wikis, blogs, and multiple choice assessments online.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot that we do use TWEN and sharepoint (with vodcasts) at FCSL. And we have facebook accounts (dept and personal), twitter and AOL. :-)M~
